Driving along a sun-drenched highway in California in my Prius car, I could hardly see my navigation screen. The sun had whitened it out. I set out to find a solution for this problem but found there wasn’t anything like it on the market to address this issue..
I developed the design for the Navishade using a 3D printer for the prototype. It’s a simple design involving three pieces that snap together to block sun rays from your navigation screen. Once you snap the pieces together, it is difficult to take them apart..
The main piece is 7″ long with two tongues that will fit into a 7″ CD slot. The two other pieces are 3″ long and connect to the sides of the first piece. Originally designed for Prius, the Navishade will fit many other navigation units. The best way to know if it will fit with your vehicle is to ensure you have a 7″ CD slot..
