Firstly, you should rotate the pan head until it is detached from
tripod. The screw that connects the tripod and pan head is 1/4-in.
You are supposed to buy a 1/4-in to 3/8-in adaptor to change the tripod
screw to 3/8-in. Finally other ball head (3/8-in screw-hole) can be installed to the tripod.
